Marilyn Kramer Weitzman, MAI, CRE, FRICS
President and Principal
Marilyn Kramer Weitzman is President of The Weitzman Group, Inc. She has been a principal in her own firm since 1981. She was formerly an Assistant Vice President of the Investment Services Division at Landauer Associates, Inc. in New York City. Her firm has evaluated major trophy properties such as Rockefeller Center, One World Financial Center, One Liberty Plaza, Mall of America and the New York Hilton Hotel.
She received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the New York University Stern School of Business Administration. She also holds an MAI designation (Member of the Appraisal Institute), a CRE designation (Counselors of Real Estate), and a FRICS designation (Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors).
Ms. Weitzman's active professional affiliations include the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), the Counselors of Real Estate (past national Vice-President), the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW Past President), the Appraisal Institute (past Vice-Chairman, national Education Committee, and President of the New York Chapter), and the Urban Land Institute, where she has served as vice chair of various Urban Development Mixed-Use Councils.
In addition, she has served as a Board Member of the New York City Industrial Development Agency.
Ms. Weitzman has lectured extensively throughout the United States and was previously a faculty member of The Real Estate Institute of New York University where she has taught courses and seminars on Real Estate Market and Investment Analysis and the Advanced Applications course in appraisal. She is also a certified faculty member for the Appraisal Institute where she has taught courses in Real Estate Market Analysis, Case Studies in Real Estate Valuation, Valuation Analysis and Report Writing and Advanced Applications, which are required or elective courses to achieve the MAI designation.
