Marie-Danielle Faucher specializes in complex urban real estate projects. Prior to a career in consulting, she has alternatively worked as a project director for a major pension fund and a redevelopment agency, as a project manager for an international developer, and for planning and architecture firms in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Recent assignments include feasibility studies, market analysis, valuation, master plans, development strategies and solicitation documents for mixed-use residential, commercial and recreational projects, the rehabilitation of industrial structures, and existing and new waterfront and transit-oriented developments. Ms. Faucher also provides valuation and litigation support in the acquisition and development of air rights and in the renegotiation of master and ground leases.
Prior to joining the Weitzman Group, Marie-Danielle Faucher was a managing director with the Public Private Advisory Group and Consulting Services at Landauer Realty Group / Grubb & Ellis, and a Project Director at Cadev / Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in Montréal. At the Caisse, which is Canada’s largest real estate investor, Ms. Faucher analyzed equity participations in Canada and abroad with Cadim and SITQ. At the Caisse, Ms. Faucher has also been Project Director for the pre-development of the Quartier International Business District where she participated in the negotiation of development agreements with various business partners. The Quartier international is an urban improvement investment planned in conjunction with the redevelopment of the city’s main Convention Center. Development on adjacent properties has been valued at more than $1 billion. Ms. Faucher has also worked in Boston and Prague.
Ms. Faucher holds a masters degree and a doctorate from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University as well as a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Faculty of Engineering at McGill University.
Marie-Danielle Faucher is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the American Institute of Certified Planners, the Québec Order of Architects, the American Institute of Architects, the Association of Real Estate Women, and serves on the Building Committee of Danspace Project in New York City. She has been a visiting professor at Washington University, Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, Université du Québec in Montréal, and a guest speaker and visiting critic at the following institutions: The Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, Arizona State University, Ryerson University, Université de Montréal and McGill University. Ms. Faucher has also published articles on real estate, planning and architecture issues in the United States, Canada and Europe.
